About Morro de São Paulo

Morro de São Paulo is a village on Tinharé Island, 270 km south of Salvador in Bahia. No cars allowed: arrive by boat or small plane, then walk or take a wheelbarrow to your pousada. The five beaches are numbered Primeira, Segunda, Terceira, Quarta and Quinta — Segunda is the party beach, Quarta is calm-water family paradise. Nights in the village square stay loud with forró, axé and a younger international crowd. It's the most accessible tropical-island experience on Brazil's Northeast coast.
