Backpackers, dolphins and pink-sand cliffs: the most-loved party-and-nature combo on Brazil's Northeast coast

About Pipa

Pipa is a former fishing village on the Atlantic coast 80 km south of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. Its cliffs are pink at sunset, dolphins live in Praia dos Golfinhos year-round (one of the few places on Earth where wild dolphins approach swimmers daily), and the main street stays open until 4am with capirinhas. International backpackers, French and Spanish surfers, and Brazilian college students keep the place loud through summer. Off-season Pipa is calm enough for digital nomads and long-term yoga retreats.
